Heritage Collection - Kwan Yin
Kwn Yin, originally a Buddhist deity, was incorporated into Chinese mythology as the Goddess of Mercy. She is the embodiment of beauty, love and benevolence. Her holy aura radiates from her face and shoulders, bringing comfort to the suffering masses. In her right hand is the willow branch, a symbol of strength and perseverance. In her left, pointing downwards, is a flask of holy water, with which she blesses her true believers. The lotus flower design in her robes, is the symbol of purity and spiritual rebirth.
Kwan Yin is also the patron saint of sailors. When a fearsome storm brews and giant waves threaten to engulf those at sea, sailors pray to Kwan Yin to deliver them. She is seen riding to their rescue on the back of the Mighty Dragon
