From the "Cathedral Series" The original is a triptych - featuring windows of angels from St. Andrew's Cathedral in Honolulu. I borrowed a friend to pose as a homeless person beneath the window of Jacob's dream. Into our present world, I have tried to translate the Bible verses (Ps. 91: 11 & 12): "For he shall give his angels charge over thee; They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone." I have attempted to move away from the familiar European concept of angels with blonde hair, blue eyes, and wings and have used my own friends and family from Honolulu to be my "angels."
