Substance
This gentle "poke" at ritualism comes from the artist's own experience in the
liturgical church. (She is an Episcopal Organist / Choirmaster) and, although
she loves the solemnity of the ceremony, she is asking, "Is God more evident
in a church building (man's creation) than in nature?" A rosary is washed up
in the sand of the seascape where Christ's hand becomes "flesh and blood"
against His own creation. She has used her friends from St. Andrew's Episcopal
Cathedral in Honolulu as her models.
