This particular Monterey Cypress is a feature of "Cypress Point" golf course. It greets the itinerent golfer as a place to meditate. It's bonsai quality is unmistakeable. I thought it was the quintessential tree to frame the distant, "Point Lobos State Park". The salmon edging along the grass-like succulents, protruding boulders, and umbrella canopy of the tree invites contemplation. An air of whimsy pervades this part of the Monterey coast and I'd like to think that this image captures that quality.
